Naval Regional Shore Infrastructure Planning (RSIP) Support
We are currently supporting the Department of the Navy's RSIP effort, which is designed
to identify alternatives for optimizing the use of land and facilities. Developing GIS
information pertaining to capital improvement, major repairs, and business development
suitability layers. Utilizing ArcIMS, this information is provided to every Naval Shore
Installation allowing users from different geographic locations to view what activities
are occurring at an individual installation.
Force Protection Planning
RMC is developing effective force protection techniques, applying the latest ArcInfo,
Spatial Analyst, and 3D Analyst GIS technology to provide detailed assessments for areas such
as points of entry, detailing design approach routes to limit vehicle speeds, and protection
of high-risk personnel. Providing building vulnerability assessments using blast simulation
software to establish standoff distance and providing assessments, which include the size of
the bomb, types of barriers, materials used for construction of the building, and the potential
number of causalities.
Community Planning Analysis
RMC provided planning analysis to one of the fastest growing communities in Maryland. We assessed
the community's need to manage open space and recreation areas and environmentally sensitive sites,
while reducing sprawl, managing the shoreline, and maintaining historic preservation of the community
as part of the comprehensive plan.
